About CICF
The Cornell International Christian Fellowship (CICF) is a student led organization that was initiated in 1994 by several students in Graduate Christian Fellowship to address the spiritual and social needs of their international friends who face the challenges of studies and life far from home.
Today CICF provides a community of friendship for students and scholars from around the world. The group is culturally diverse, with over forty persons in regular attendance representing over 79 countries participating in the last twelve years..
CICF is a student led organization and there is no formal membership. Participation in CICF is open to all, regardless of religious and cultural background or student status. We are an inter-denominational group and are not affiliated with a specific church although many of us attend various churches in the area.
"The purpose of CICF is rather strightfoward. We seek to serve the international community at Cornell University throught hospitality and service, and to provide an opportunity to share the good news of Jesus Christ by example and by word of mouth."
Typical CICF Meeting
We usually start with a meal prepared by several of our members affectionatly called the Agape (love) meal. This meal represent a variety of tasty dishes from around the world. The dinner usually ends at 7:30 PM and is followed by worship (a time of singing, reading scriptures, and praying) then we split off into separate Bible studies and come back together again for a time of snacks and more fellowship. During the summer months (End of May to end of August), there is generally one Bible study and the format may range from a study of scriptures from the Bible to a video presentation with discussion afterwards. If you are interested in learning about Christianity and the Bible, or if you are looking for a place to fellowship with other Christians, please join us for our regular meeting on Fridays at at 6:30 PM. Feel free to join us for all or part of the time.
